Edward James "Ted" Hughes ( 17 gusht 1930 — 28 tetor 1998) ishte poet anglez, shkrimtar për fëmijë, i njohur si Теd Hjuz. Kritikët e vlerësojnë si njërin ndër më të mirët e gjeneratës së vet.[1]
Ishte i martuaar me poeten britaneze Sylvia Plath, nga 1956 e deri në vdekjen e saj,[2] e cila bëri vetëvrasje më 1963, në moshën e saj 30 vjeçare.
Në vitin 2008, revista Тhe Times e vendosi Hughesin, në vendin e katërt, në listen e saj „50 shkrimtarët më të mire britanezë, pas vitit 1945“.[3]
Më 22 mars 2010 është publikuar se Hughes do të fitoi vendin në Westminster Abbey.[4]
Për jetën me Sylvia Plath, më 2003 u realizua edhe filmi "Sylvia" i regjisores Christine Jeffs, nga Zelanda e Re, ku rolin e Sylvia Plath e luan Gwyneth Paltrow, ndërsa të Ted Hughes Daniel Craig.
